Christmas 2025

As we celebrate Christmas and look toward the New Year, we find ourselves deeply grateful—for God’s faithfulness, for the work He is doing here in Uganda, and for each of you who prays for, encourages, and supports us. Your partnership makes it possible for us to serve with EMI, helping design and develop facilities that support gospel-centered ministries across East Africa.

We celebrated Christmas this past week with a quiet day at home as a family (or at least as quiet as life can be with a one-year-old and an almost-three-year-old!). Our office enjoys two full weeks off for Christmas and New Year’s, and this break has been a gift—time to rest, reset, and just be together. It has been such a joy watching Jamie grow excited about Christmas and begin to understand what it means. She has loved our nightly Advent devotions, lighting (and enthusiastically blowing out) candles, and of course, making and decorating cookies. Sage continues to be a true joy, with a smile for everyone that she sees. She’s started taking steps on her own this past week and loves playing with her big sister.

This season, we celebrate Immanuel—God with us—who came not only to save, but to dwell with His people. That truth continues to shape the hope we carry into 2026. Our prayer is that His peace and presence meet you in every place of joy, every place of uncertainty, and every place of need.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1:5

Ministry Update

This has been a year of significant transition for EMI Uganda, and we are incredibly thankful for how God has carried us through it. In June, we experienced a leadership change with Valerie stepping into the role of Office Director. That shift brought a season of restructuring, with roles adjusting and responsibilities moving around. At the same time, we navigated staff departures, welcomed new team members, and faced the discouragement of construction projects being unexpectedly pulled at the last minute. It was a stretching and refining year in many ways.

And yet, through all of it, we have seen God’s provision, guidance, and steady grace. The team has grown closer, our mission has remained clear, and we’ve had the privilege of contributing to some truly meaningful projects. We look forward to sharing stories and highlights from these in the coming months.

End of Year Giving

As the year closes, we are praying for continued support to help us remain fully funded in 2026. If God prompts you, would you consider an end-of-year gift or monthly partnership? Your support directly enables us to continue serving ministries here through EMI. The easiest way to give is online by clicking the button below:

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We couldn’t do this work alone. Your encouragement, prayers, generosity, and friendship remind us that we are sent and supported by a community of faith.

May the joy of Christ’s birth fill your home with peace, and may His presence guide you in the year ahead.

With gratitude and hope,
Bruce & Hannah Arensen
