In late June, we returned to the US for a 3-month home assignment. This is meant as a time to connect with our friends and family, share about our ministry with our supporters and churches, and raise any additional support that we need to fund the work that we’re doing in Uganda.
We have so much to be thankful for over the past 2 months. We’ve been able to spend time with family, with 2 different family vacations with Bruce’s and Hannah’s families. We also attended a family camp at Camp Patmos, a camp in northern Minnesota that is owned by our supporting church in Minneapolis. We’ve had opportunities to share at churches and with individuals. It’s also been quite tiring, with a lot of changes week to week, but it really has been a blessing being here.
We’ve also had a few hardships while we’ve been here. Hannah had a malaria relapse while we were on a family vacation in Branson, MO. Thankfully, Bruce’s dad had some malaria medicine with him! It was a much weaker case compared to what she had in May, but it still wasn’t much fun. And then while we were in Corning, NY a few weeks ago, Jamie had severe stomach pain that took us to the ER and short hospital stay. It ended up not being anything too serious, for which we are incredibly thankful.

We are incredibly grateful for all our financial supporters who give to our ministry, making it possible for us to serve with EMI! Over the past few years, a number of supporters have had to step away, and with the increased needs of raising a young family, we find ourselves in a season of needing to increase our financial support. Would you prayerfully consider joining our support team—or, if you already partner with us, prayerfully consider increasing your monthly giving? Every gift, whether large or small, directly enables us to continue serving in Uganda. Above all, please continue to pray for us, especially as we continue to navigate our time on home assignment.
We truly couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for walking with us, encouraging us, and supporting the mission God has called us to. Together, we are building a world of hope!
