We’re Going!

We are leaving for Uganda in a week and a half! We have plane tickets and will be flying out from Dulles International Airport on September 12, arriving in Uganda on the 13th. God’s provision has been abundant over the past few months, as we’ve been able to reach both our monthly support and start-up costs goals. Thank you so much to everyone who has joined our team and supported us financially, as well as our prayer partners and everyone else who has played a part in getting us to this point. We are incredibly blessed with an amazing team of supporters who are sending us to Uganda!

The last bit of logistics that we’re still figuring out is getting our dog over to Uganda. For those that don’t know Radar, he’s our 6 year old Corgi who’s very much a part of our family. It’s surprisingly easy to bring a dog overseas – the plan had been to just bring him on the same plane as us (just in the cargo hold, because he’s too big to be in the cabin). But we found out this week that our vet forgot to give him one of the required vaccines, so he wouldn’t be allowed in Uganda. That has since been rectified, but it means he won’t be allowed to travel for 30 days in order to allow the vaccine’s effectiveness to kick in. Don’t worry, he’s still going to come; we just need to figure out the best way to make that happen! Here are some obligatory pictures of Radar (because who doesn’t love pictures of corgis?), as well as some photos of our packing progress.

We’re going to keep this monthly update short – we still have a lot of preparation to be ready to leave in a little over a week. We’re in the process of packing boxes (everything that we’re bring with us is coming on the plane), carefully weighing each one to make sure that we maximize the weight of each piece of luggage. We’ll try to send out an update soon after we arrive in Uganda – we can’t wait to get there!

Pray With Us

We are so grateful for your prayers and support! Please join us in prayer for the following:

  • Praise God for providing everything that we’ve needed to move to Uganda! The blessings over the past few months have been incredible; we wish would could share all of the ways that God has worked.
